Hibernate Script:  The userspace script that prepares for and cleans up after a suspend cycle. It also supports swsusp and Suspend-to-Ram.
Kernel Patches:  These are the patches applied to the kernel which do the main portion of the task of suspending and resuming.
Userspace UI:  The userspace user interface programs that provide pretty interfaces for suspending and resuming.
